Telepsychiatry in Florida — psychiatric treatment from home
Secure video visits with a board-certified psychiatric provider, available to patients anywhere in Florida — in English or Spanish.
What telepsychiatry is
Telepsychiatry is psychiatric treatment delivered over secure video instead of in an office: the same evaluation, the same conversation, the same treatment plan — without the drive, the parking, or the waiting room. At Mind Link, online visits are a full part of the practice, not an afterthought. You can complete your initial psychiatric evaluation by video, continue medication management at follow-ups, and switch between online and in-person appointments whenever life requires it.
Because care is delivered under a Florida license, we can treat patients well beyond the Miami area — from Orlando and Tampa to Jacksonville, the Panhandle, and the Keys. The only requirement is that you're physically in Florida at the time of each visit.
Who telepsychiatry works well for
Online care fits people whose schedules, locations, or circumstances make office visits hard to sustain: professionals who can't step away for half a day, parents coordinating around school hours, students, caregivers, people without easy transportation, and anyone who simply feels more comfortable talking from home. It's also how we keep care consistent when patients travel within the state or move to another Florida city.
Some situations do call for in-person care, and part of our job is telling you honestly when that's the case. If a video visit ever surfaces something better handled in the office, we'll say so and help you arrange it.
How an online visit works
- 1
Request an appointment
Reach out through our contact page and we'll schedule a time that works for you — including evenings for busy schedules.
- 2
Join your secure video visit
Before your appointment you'll receive a private video link. Open it on your phone, tablet, or computer — no special software to install.
- 3
Get your treatment plan
Your visit works like an office visit: a full conversation about your history, symptoms, and goals, ending with a clear plan and next steps.
- 4
Pick up prescriptions locally
When medication is part of your plan, prescriptions are sent electronically to the Florida pharmacy of your choice.
Conditions we treat online
The full range of Mind Link care is available through telepsychiatry:
Fully bilingual — English and Spanish
Every telepsychiatry visit is available in English or Spanish, conducted directly by our provider — a native Spanish speaker — with no interpreter on the line. For many of our patients and their families, being able to describe symptoms, ask questions, and understand a treatment plan in their first language changes the quality of care entirely.
Telepsychiatry FAQs
Is telepsychiatry as effective as seeing someone in person?
For evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care, research consistently shows video visits produce outcomes comparable to office visits. Many patients also keep appointments more consistently because there's no commute — and consistency is one of the biggest drivers of progress.
Can prescriptions be sent through a telepsychiatry visit?
Yes. When medication is appropriate, we send prescriptions electronically to any Florida pharmacy you choose, and we monitor and adjust them at follow-up visits just as we would in the office. Certain controlled medications have additional requirements, which we'll discuss with you directly.
Is the video visit private and HIPAA-compliant?
Yes. Visits take place over an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Nothing is recorded, and we recommend joining from a quiet, private space so you can speak freely.
What technology do I need?
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, plus a reliable internet connection. You'll receive a link before your visit — one tap and you're in. If anything goes wrong technically, we'll call you and sort it out.
Do I have to be in Florida for my appointment?
Yes. Licensing rules require that you be physically located in Florida at the time of each visit. You can join from anywhere in the state — home, work, or even your car between commitments.
Are visits available in Spanish?
Yes — fully. Our provider is a native Spanish speaker, so the entire visit can be conducted in Spanish or English with no interpreter involved.
